WI Gov. Scott Walker Compared to Hitler and Mubarak
Protesters rallying against Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker have harsh words for newly elected official, who has threatened to call in the National Guard to forcibly quash the dissenting viewpoints of peaceful pro organized labor demonstrators opposing his move to bust unions for political gain.
Pro-collective bargaining protesters recently began displaying placards comparing Walker to German Nazi Socialist war criminal Adolf Hitler and U.S. backed Egyptian President and oppressor of his own people, Hosni Mubarak.
Appearing Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was asked whether the protesters’ comparisons of Walker to the authoritarians Hitler and Mubarak were “wrong,” to which Trumka responded: “In Wisconsin, a vast majority of the people think this governor has overreached. His popularity has gone down. They’re saying to him, sit down and negotiate; don’t do what you’ve been doing.”
