The producers of “Machete” have come up with a fun online application, Photo Bomb, that lets fans of Robert Rodriguez’s grindhouse film become a part of the “Machete” legacy. Photo Bomb lets fans upload photos that are altered in an automated process to take on the look and feel of Machete artwork.
Fans can create their own “Machete” poster by uploading a photo and include characters from the film. You can share your poster on the site, or post it on Facebook!

“Machete,” the Labor Day Weekend sensation distributed by Fox, is surrounded by controversy because of its thematic focus on the illegal immigration debate raging in border states such as Arizona and Texas. Machete, played by Danny Trejo, is a hard-as-steel Mexican Federale who must clear his name in a botched political assassination AND save defenseless illegal immigrants from a savage border patrolling militia.
Controversial public figures such as Alex Jones have called “Machete” a film promoting a state-sponsored race war, much like the 1915 racist propaganda film “Birth of A Nation” by D. W. Griffith. That film was shown in the White House when it was released in 1915. But it is clear to anyone who has actually seen “Machete” that the film is not pro-illegal immigration, but merely an intentionally ham-fisted exploitation of the extreme views extolled by both sides of the political debate.
The film, budgeted at $20 million, took in $15 million over the holiday weekend. Starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Robert De Niro, Don Johnson, Steven Seagal, Cheech Marin and Jeff Fahey, “Machete” is in theaters everywhere.
