Vampire Diaries: It’s Tough Being a Salvatore Uncle

Vampire diaries Bonnie In last week’s “The Vampire Diaries” episode titled, “You’re Undead To Me,” Stefan and their uncle Zach manage to neutralize Damon by locking him in a cellar and injecting him with verbain extract. Stefan warns Zach to stay out of the basement, and Zach takes issue with Stefan’s going to school while a vicious bloodsucker is imprisoned in the basement. But ignoring the obvious danger, Zach goes to the cellar and chats Damon up, letting him know exactly what he thinks of Damon. Of course, that’s when we figure out Zach’s gonna bite the dust sooner rather than later. And sure enough, his death comes before the end of the episode. Guess the Salvatore brothers will have to find another groundskeeper for the estate.

Elsewhere, Bonnie discovers she has telekinetic powers and can set things on fire with her mind. Stefan sees her do it, and he promises to keep her secret. Wonder if they’ll form an alliance? Or will the cabal of “neighborly” vampire hunters also round her up?

In a surprising turn of events, “girl from the wrong side of the tracks,” Vicki gets eliminated in an awesome kill scene. Should have guessed that Vicki’s stealing Elena’s prescription drugs would make her a more likely candidate for sudden death than Caroline, who became Nosferatu’s emotionally neglected concubine. Apparently, drug addiction is a bigger moral problem than premarital sex in Mystic Falls.

Tonight’s episode, “Lost Girls,” looks equally fun. A flashback depicting a Civil War-era Stefan, Damon and Katherine, features prominently. Expect more of the Salvatore family’s history and the brother’s rivalry to be exposed.
