Henry GasparianA 70 year-old Armenian man from Edmonds, Washington, whose family fought the Nazis in World War II, now faces assault charges for defending Pres. Obama at a Libertarian rally. Anti-Obama protesters were carrying posters depicting the President as Adolf Hitler, according to King 5 News.
About the incident, WWII survivior Henry Gasparian said, “I don’t want to see a picture of a killer, a demon, to be used for someone’s political career. ” Gasparian was walking through downtown Edmonds in an area where two people held the offensive and controversial signs and literature depicting Pres. Obama as Hitler.
During the War, Gasparian was a boy living in Armenia when Hitler and the Nazis began their campaign of extermination. “I have some relatives who were killed. My other uncle came home without a leg,” said Gasparian.

“I asked them, ‘Do you know who Hitler was?’ Do you know why you’re standing here?’” he said. But he was ignored. Gasparian confronted two young men holding the signs. Then he tried to snatch their brochures. Gasparian tried grabbing some of the people’s pamphlets. He says they shoved, he shoved and then he walked away. A couple hours later, he returned and stopped to ask a police officer if what they were doing was legal. That was when police handcuffed him.

Gasparian watched his brother starve to death under the German occupation of the Soviet Union. And the image of Obama donning a Hitler mustache rushed him with a flood of motional memories.
Gasparian hopes others will stand up against what he calls stupidity. “We can argue about that’s freedom of speech, but what does that have to do with Hitler and swastika?” said Gasparian.

The people with the signs and pamphlets were supporters of Lyndon LaRouche, a perennial presidential candidate and strong opponent of Pres. Obama.
