melrose place 2.0 auggieThis week’s ‘Melrose Place 2.0’ reveals how Auggie met Sydney. In true Hollywood fashion, she trolled Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for hot man-flesh while overcoming a pesky cocaine habit. Auggie has anger management issues as well as a dead girlfriend in his past, making him Detective Marco Rodriguez’s (Nicholas Gonzalez) prime suspect.

Meanwhile, fawn-eyed newbie Violet (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) reveals herself to be a bit of a nut. Is she on drugs or just naturally spacey and psychotic? She’s Sydney’s long-abandoned daughter, maybe. The problem is that Sydney can’t recall having a child. Indeed, you’d think a girl like Sydney would have remembered popping out a little yap; a child would have been a just the tool she needed to trap one of her old lovers.

Lauren, who can’t seem to secure a student loan to cover her med school tuition, slips further into call-girl mode. But unlike Belle in ‘Secret Diaries of a Call-Girl,’ who savors sex with wealthy and hot strange men, Lauren does not allow herself the luxury of enjoying herself. She’s all business. Interestingly, she does a great job at pretending she’s connecting with her Johns until payment time comes around. Guess she’s a natural.

CW’s ‘Melrose Place 2.0’ attracted 1.8 million viewers, down from 2.3 million viewers on its first night, according to TV by the Numbers.
