A review of the Cambridge Police Department’s Incident Report prepared by Officer James Crowley in the arrest of Harvard professor Henry L. Gates, Jr, when compared with the contents of the newly released 911 tape reveals that Officer Crowley misrepresented events described to him by the 911 caller, and possibly lied in the official report.
Restaurant Industry Outlook Lower for Second Consecutive Month

The National Restaurant Association has reported a continued downturn in its comprehensive index of restaurant activity, showing the index declined for the second consecutive month in June. The Association’s Restaurant Performance Index (RPI) – a monthly composite index that tracks the health of and outlook for the U.S. restaurant industry – stood at 97.8 in June, down 0.5 percent from May and its 20th consecutive month below 100.
Dow Jones Economic Sentiment Indicator Up for Fifth Consecutive Month

The Dow Jones Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) continued its trend of improvement, rising in July to 33.6, up from 31.8 in June, according to a statement released today. It is the fifth consecutive monthly increase for the indicator and the longest streak of improvement since the ESI rose each month from August to December of 2004.
