Radical Publishing announced today that its roster of writers as well as prominent filmmakers and other personalities will attend Comic-Con 2009 to participate in signings at the Radical Booth and participate in Radical’s Panel offered Friday, July 24 panel from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.

While 2009 sees the 10th Anniversary of the celebrated sci-fi action series “Farscape,” this year has also seen a resurgence of the “Farscape” franchise in comic book form from Top Ten comic book publisher BOOM! Studios. To take that resurgence full throttle, BOOM! Studios has announced today that “Farscape” creator Rockne S. O’Bannon will be signing a one of a kind collector’s “Scorpius Edition” of the “Farscape Vol. 1” hardcover offered exclusively to Comic-Con 2009 attendees.

Employment Agency Operator Sentenced to 5 Years for Harboring Illegal Aliens

According to United States Attorney David E. Nahmias and other information presented in court, Laing Yang, 37, had previously operated an employment agency in Atlanta from 2001 to 2003, which found jobs in Chinese restaurants, predominantly for illegal Hispanic workers. Yang returned to the employment agencies and his illegal activity in November 2007. Yang was sentenced in Federal Court yesterday to 5 years in prison for harboring illegal aliens through his employment agency.

FBI Warns of Increase in Reverse Mortgage Scams

The FBI and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General (HUD-OIG) urge consumers, especially senior citizens, to be vigilant when seeking reverse mortgage products. Reverse mortgages, also known as Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECM), have increased more than 1,300 percent between 1999 and 2008, creating significant opportunities for fraud perpetrators.
